To feature only cosmetic updates
The first pictures of the Fiat Punto facelift have leaked to the web.
The Italian compact hatch features redesigned and bolder headlights and grille with chrome treatment. The front bumper seems to be also restyled with new chrome outlined fog lights. On the back we find revised stop lights.
On the inside, the dashboard remains more or less the same with piano black finish on the center console.
Motoroids.com reports the facelifted Punto will only receive cosmetic upgrades with no engine updates. If this turns out to be true, in Europe the vehicle will be offered with a 1.3-liter 16V Multijet diesel unit that develops 85 PS (62 kW) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque and a 0.9-liter TwinAir Turbo petrol engine with 85 PS (62 kW) and 145 Nm (107 lb-ft) of torque.
In India, where the vehicle is very popular, the 2015 Punto will be available with 1.2-liter and 1.4-liter engines, both capable of producing 68 PS (50 kW) and 90 PS (66 kW) respectively.
In May 2014 it was reported the next generation Punto will be launched in 2016. The almost 10-year old car will be replaced by a model that could be called the 500 Plus. It is expected to be offered exclusively as a five-door hatchback that is longer and wider than the standard 500.
