The 2016 Honda CR-V facelift has been spied testing in the United States of America for the first time. The refreshed fourth-generation CR-V is expected to get a host of styling updates.
The spy pictures of the test mule suggest that the CR-V will get extensive changes to the front fascia. It seems like the headlights and the grille will be revised and it will get a new bumper. The rear seems to be quite similar to the current model, however, expect the car to get minor tweaks to the tail-lights and the bumper. There are no pictures of the interiors, although it too may get some minor changes.
The CR-V will continue to be powered by the same powertrains a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine producing 185bhp and 221Nm of torque. The European CR-V will get a 1.6-litre i-DTEC rated at 118bhp and 300 Nm, a 2.2-litre i-DTEC with 148bhp and 349Nm and a 2.0-litre i-VTEC rated at 148bhp and 192Nm. It will be available in FWD and AWD layouts depending on the choice of engine.
The 2016 Honda CR-V facelift (US-spec) might be officially unveiled by mid-2015 and will be followed by the European version. Honda will launch the updated model within six to eight months from its global launch. Honda hasn’t offered the CR-V with a diesel engine here, but they might offer it with the facelifted model.
