Tata Bolt and Zest - What to Expect?

Tata Motors, the home-grown automaker,  has high hopes from its new breed of cars that are fresh in design and will come with new-age technologies, something that we have been eagerly waiting for. The two cars that it is betting big on are the Tata Bolt and Zest, which are expected to be rolled out in the third quarter of this calender year
Tata Bolt and Zest - What to Expect?
So, if you are considering one of these cars, here's our brief preview.
Exterior
Tata Motors is focussing much stronger on the design of its new cars to woo back customers, who are fed-up of the same design that most Tata cars carried till now. Tata Bolt and Zest will be the first two cars to adorn company's new design language. Both these cars have been designed taking inputs from the three Tata Motors' design studios in Pune, Coventry (UK) and Turin (Italy). The new design semantics include new Tata signature grille with new 'Humanity Line', visually flowing into the headlamps. In the Zest, the projector headlamps complemented by chrome accents, the rear treatment of LED lamps, new set of 15 inch alloy wheels and few more changes add more to the exterior styling.

Interior
The new design language gives a new character to both the cars, and I can safely say that these will be one of the best-looking cars of their respective segments. Interior design too looks much better than the Vista with substantial changes like black and optional colour combination shade, silver trim inserts, newly designed steering wheels, redesigned instrument cluster with integrated multi-information display, updated A/C vent design and few more. The instrument cluster and the central AC vents are connected in a single wing-shaped graphics.
Engine Options
Both the Zest and Bolt will be powered by the first-in-class turbocharged intercooled multi-point fuel-injected (MPFi) Revotron 1.2T engine. Mated to the first-in-class F-Tronic technology-enabled 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT), this engine will deliver 89bhp and 200Nm of torque.
The diesel versions will derive power from the fiat-sourced 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine, which also powers the Swift and Dzire.
Features
With some exclusive features, the Zest and Bolt will also be among the most-loaded cars in their respective segments. One such feature is the new 5 inch infotainment system. While HARMAN has designed the infotainment and audio acoustics system, MapmyIndia has designed the next-generation navigation & location based services for the new cars.
Other key features
Drive by wire technology for better engine response
Improved suspension coupled with a zero pivot subframe to ensure smooth and comfortable ride
ABS
Expected Price
Tata Bolt - Rs. 4.5 - Rs. 7 Lakh
Tata Zest - Rs. 5 - 8 Lakh
